Josh Walker received a B.M., summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received a J.D., summa cum laude, from the UT College of Law and began a personal injury practice with the Law Offices of J.D. Lee. He then joined the firm of Paine, Tarwater, Bickers, and Tillman (presently Paine Bickers) where, for seven years, he practiced in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, toxic torts, estate litigation and general civil litigation, in all aspects of pre-trial, trial and appellate litigation.

Walker joined the Office of General Counsel in 2011. He defends the state of Tennessee/ University in tort and worker’s compensation claims before the Tennessee Claims Commission and defends tort claims against individual University employees in other forums. He also represents the University in administrative hearings of student disciplinary and academic matters and provides advice and counsel to various University committees and individuals.
